Switch aero system by redshift sports12/26/2023 ![]() You can do both at speed (it's a bit scary at first but as you get used to it it's not a problem) though I won't recommend flipping the saddle forward when you are in close proximity to other cyclists as you have only one hand on the handlebars.įor triathlons (olympic and 70.3) I flip the saddle forward and keep it that way I tackle climbs either on the drops or out of the saddle.įor regular road rides I switch the saddle back and forth during the ride as I see fit. You flip it backward with your hips and flip it forward with one hand pulling the front of the seat forward. You don't need to stop to flip the saddle forward or backward. Seems like consensus is that it would help performance from aero gains, but the fit may not work for me or be less than optimal. even in a hilly course it doesnt make sense to stop and flip the seat up and down right? You're likely going to be in the upright seat position to fit the aero bars the whole race and the point of the system is to flip it down for regular road rides I'm assuming?Įdit: thanks for all the comments. Those that use regular clip on bars like profile designs, do you adjust the seat permanently to fit your aero position? Then when you are riding on your drops/hoods the fit is wrong and you just deal with it? So I've done my last few tri's with my road bike and drop bars, but looking to make the leap to clip on bars this year (and train with them too).
